Admission for Master in Development Practice Programme (2024-25)

In recent decades, the development sector has seen the emergence of new ideas and practices requiring expertise from various fields, including technology, management, and social sciences. To address this need, many organizations have introduced 'fellows programmes' to support professionals in the sector. Responding to requests from stakeholders, Center for Technology Alternatives for Rural Area (CTARA) at IIT Bombay has launched a one-year 'Master in Development Practice' programme to help fellows enhance their academic and professional skills, enabling them to continue serving the development sector. The objective of this programme is to equip young development practitioners with the academic and analytical skills needed to become effective professionals in the sector. The admission to this programme happens through the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE).

Key Programme Features:

  • One-year, full-time programme primarily conducted online with some in-person modules.
  • Designed for individuals with at least 24 months of field-based experience in the development sector.
  • Includes an independent MDP project mentored by IIT Bombay faculty.
  • Open to both sponsored and self-sponsored students.
